About SG Electricity Plans

SG Electricity Plans is an independent, unofficial comparison tool for Singapore's Open Electricity Market (OEM). It was built to solve one problem: retailers publish their rates in different formats on different pages, which makes it hard to see at a glance who is actually cheapest for your household. This site pulls those rates together, standardises them against the current SP Group tariff, and estimates a monthly bill for each plan based on the usage you enter.

What data is shown

  • The current SP Group regulated electricity tariff, and its rate history over the past 5 years.
  • Fixed-rate and discount-off-tariff plans published by retailers licensed under Singapore's OEM.
  • An estimated monthly bill for each plan, calculated from the plan's effective rate and the usage figure you enter.
  • Reference figures for average monthly household electricity usage by home type, sourced from the Energy Market Authority (EMA).

How the bill estimate is calculated

Estimated monthly bill = effective rate (¢/kWh) × your entered monthly usage (kWh), divided by 100. For discount-off-tariff plans, the effective rate is recalculated every time the underlying SP tariff changes, so the figure you see always reflects the current quarter — not a stale snapshot from when the plan was first listed. This is an estimate for comparison purposes only; your actual bill also depends on your retailer's billing cycle, any promotional credits, and other charges not captured here.
